Conditioning Blue
Curiosa Roses
The first job when you receive your beautiful Blue Curiosa Roses is to condition them
correctly. This will ensure they will all open correctly and last for the longest possible time. To condition
your Blue Curiosa Roses, please follow the step by step guide below:
-
Cut your Blue Curiosa Rose stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife. (If you don't
own a florists knife, a stanley knife will be fine).
-
Remove the lower foliage from the stems, leaving a few leaves just below the flower heads.
-
Now carefully remove the thorns, trying not to gauge or cut into the stems. Investing in a rose
stripper is always a good idea!
-
Fill clean flower buckets with boiling water & sterilising solution.
-
Once sterilised, tip out the water & replace with warm water & flower food.
-
Place the Blue Curiosa Roses in the bucket - submerged in deep water to just below the flower
heads.
-
Leave the Blue Curiosa Roses over night to hydrate - they will be ready to work with in the
morning.
-
Do not put the Blue Curiosa roses near a radiator, close to fruit, in direct sunlight or
in a draught.
Top Tip!
The outer petals of Blue Curiosa Roses are called 'guard petals'. These petals are often
darker in colour and thicker than the other petals. For a lovely clean look, carefully remove
them.
